Prague, Czech Republic, 10/27/2006

I arrived yesterday.  We walked for 8+ hours.  Spent most of the day in the Jewish quarter.   At one time, Prague had the largest Jewish population in Europe.   Visited a holocaust museum (similar to Vietnam memorial, listed all of the known names of Jews from the area that lost their lives.  There were many walls covered.   I also visited a museum of Jewish culture.

Today, was out walking for 12 hours (sounds tiring doesn't it, but wanted to get everything in in a day and a half).  Visited a smaller version of the Eiffel tower and Prague's castle.   Ended up climbing lots of steps today (299 to the top of the Eiffel tower want-to-be alone).  Went to a classical music concert in a church - very popular to do here. Heard two Ave Maria's, but did not recognize either (Caccini and Handel). Heard Back, Mozart, Vivaldi, and more.   I liked Pachelbel's Fugue in C Major the best.  Off to Croatia tomorrow.  More later.
